The Beauties and the "eehh What can I say": MET Gala 2014 Review

This year's Metropolitan Museum of Art (MET) red carpet had a lot to show for the fashion exhibit of "Charles James: Beyond Fashion".

With a theme like "White Tie and Diamonds", I have to say that all my favourite celebrities didn't miss any diamond and white! They all looked like princess and princes for a grand attended ball.
Some of them impressed me and others stayed in their comfort zone.

*Okay, okay I will stop with all this talking.*
The Beauties

These 4 are just beautiful in Stella McCartney! They definitely make the dress and not the contrary!

And Yes Stella McCartney, second one, is a talented designer, making every girl a princess.

Cara Delevingne, Stella McCartney, Kate Bosworth, Reese Witherspoon

Tailor Swift wearing Oscar de la Renta I really love this dress because it is that modern-princess dress without all the extra material.

Hailee Steinfeld in Prabal Gurung custom dress. She looks all grown up in this dress. The gown is simple but yet elegant and fierce. *clap clap*

Emma Stone in Thakoon knows very well which colour and dress cut she looks the best in and again, at the MET Gala, she makes a big hit!

Only words I gotta say, WOW! Kristen Wiig dress-pant from Balenciaga and Alexander Wang is a "coup de foudre"like I would say in French. I don't know if its the simplicity, the cut or the elegance, but this outfit took my heart.

Gisele Bundchen in Balenciaga and Tom Brady They look so happy and beautiful together. The next generation of the Beckham couple!

Finally, the Diane von Furstenberg dress Olivia Munn wore just caught my eye because it is a riské, yet refreshing colour of all these black, white and beige. However, she rocked it with a simple hair pin and natural makeup.

My "eeeh What can I say" dresses of the Gala

Lea Michele just came out of the Disco era with her Altuzarra dress. The cut of the dress doesn't suit her at all and what is that extra of material on her belly. Looks like she has something to hide.

Zoe Deschanel looks like she is going back to prom with her dress, hairstyle and jewelry. I just don't like this dress. Sorry Zoe!

Mary Kate and Asley Olsen in Chanel and Gianfranco Ferré look like grandmas in young women bodies. Instead of "Back to the Future", its "Back to the Past" with these looks from the 40s. I like them a lot but they should dress their age.

Lupita Nyong'o in Prada
I just have to say No No No. At least without the head band, but still No. Where did Cinderella go?

Kate Upton as Esmeralda.
And the ruffles that just don't compliment her body. I won't go on with her hat!

It's like day and night!
Shailene Woodley and Kirsten Dunst in Rodarte
There's too much going on here! And it's just bizarre!

Maggie Gyllenhaal
I like the cut of the dress but the print looks like it came from a tablecloth!

This wraps up my MET Gala 2014 review! Let me know in the comments below which outfit of the night was your favorite!

To the next Red Carpet,

  1. Love the dresses you picked, especially Kristen Wiig's dress which is also a favorite of mine. In my opinion, with the MET Gala honoring Charles James, some of the ones that also really pulled it off are Liu Wen, and especially Karolina Kurkova. Her dress was absolutely gorgeous (My personal favorite :P)!!!

But, seriously, good work with the blog! Bien fait . ;) Not surprising of course!! ;)

    1. Thank you so much darling <3 I wish I could add all the dresses I liked but there were so many :) I have to agree that Kurkova's dress was gorgeous!

  2. My objective here isn't to despise individuals for being alluring yet to dissect the ideas that have driven all Meryl Streep Wrinkles of us so far to a belittling end.
