Ève Gravel: Montreal Fashion Week S/S14

Since I was back to school the same week as the Montreal Fashion Week, I had to write my Ève Gravel post only now. But, here it is and I am so excited to share it with you.

Last friday, I had the chance to see the spring/summer 2014 collection of eve gravel at the 25 edition of the Montreal Fashion Week. Eve gravel is a montreal designer that I particularly love. If i had to choose one fashion show to attend, it would be Ève Gravel's, which I did.

Her collection mainly consisted of tribal prints, pastels and neon accessories. She designed a collection that could appeal to a western movie by still keeping a classy city girl vibe. She did so by colour blocking the black and the white, with wedges. What I really liked in her collection is how wearable it is. I could wear many pieces as everyday outfits and add the necessary accessories to turn it into a chic cocktail outfit. Also, the materials she used seemed very light and comfortable.

I absolutely enjoyed watching the collection. It is an experience to live other than on T.V.

If you saw the Eve Gravel collection at the MFW,
I am curious to know your thoughts.

Louboutin: My story about the Red Soles

Last week, I was in Toronto and I really wanted to share with you my experience at the Christian Louboutin exposition, which took place at the Design Exchange Museum in the Financial District.

This exposition is heaven to all women and when I say all women, it is really every single women in the world.
(Guys, this is a hint for you :P)

I especially noticed how Louboutin designed a pair of shoes that appeals to any type of women.
The Sexy one, the Classy one, the Glamour one, the Smart one, the Sporty one.

From 12 inches heels to ballet flats and funky boots, Louboutin didn't miss out on anything. My best friend who is really not into fancy heels and shoes told me secretly during the exposition that she fell in love with the red soles. I believe that if my best friend made that confession, no women will say "NO" to at least one pair of Loubies in her shoe collection, including me.

Through his shoes, we directly see how he is not only a shoe designer, but much more.
He is an artist ruling the shoe and fashion industry.

I was already in love with Louboutin and his creations, but I definitely fell in love again.

If you went to the exposition,
Leave a comment below.

I am really curious to know what you think about the exposition,

GoodNight at Buonanotte

Whenever I want to dress up, wear my nicest clothes and accessories, and have a great night partying with my girls, my favourite place is on St-Laurent street, more specifically at the Buonanotte nightclub. St-Laurent is the main street for those who want to party and dance their night away.

Buonanotte starts as a restaurant/lounge that offers delicious dishes inspired from the Italian fine cuisine. As you will get to know, I love trying restaurants and clubs with a classy modern vibe with my girlfriends. The occasions for dressing up in my busy student lifestyle is limited, and that is why I always carry a pair of high heels to give a simple outfit a glamourous touch. My motto is to dress up as if it was your last day. However, I wouldn't say to dress up as if no one is around because I want people to see. I want people to be inspired. Art, magazines, street fashion, Korean dramas :P, and Montreal inspire me, and push me to try the untouchable.

Coming back to my night at Buonanotte last Saturday, my philosophy about nightclubs is that someone shouldn't abuse of them by going every weekend, but to attend them for important events, like for a friend's birthday. I don't want to get sick of the feeling that I am free and that I can dance without boundaries (I still have some). And that is what I did last friday. My friends and I hadn't have such a great night in such a long time, thanks to the music, the people I was with, and of course the people who were at the club. You might not think that those partying at the same time might be so important in order for you to have a great night, but IT IS!!! Imagine dancing around people that don't know their limits or don't care about others, or those who smell and are completely wasted, or annoying guys who use the worst pick up lines. Like Really!! Does that work with other women!!!

Dressed like we wouldn't be able to go out ever again, my girls and I had the best time of our lives. We all decided to go for classy and simple outfits. No such concept as trashiness in our fashion dictionary. Our styles were completely different from one another. For my part, I went for a simple babydoll dress from H&M, paired with clear-round Swarovski earrings and Rouge Pirate lips from the Rouge Allure Chanel Lipstick Collection to add a punch of color to my outfit. I tied my hair up not only for the style, but because it was literally the hottest night ever of our entire summer in Montreal. And the greatest Night at Buonanotte.

With Love,

Via Crescent!

White Wine Sangria at Via
One of the most vibrant streets of Montreal is nonetheless Crescent located in the heart of downtown Montreal. Fortunately, it is 2 blocks away from my University and when I want to get away from exams and classes, this is where I like to spend some quality time with my closest friends for a drink and an appetizer.

Crescent + Night out = Glamour

Last Monday, I went to Via Resto-Lounge on Crescent between Saint Catherine and Maisonneuve. From the outside, Via seemed like those regular coffee shops that you see on almost every street corner. However, out of curiosity, I decided to take a closer look to what they had to offered to the diversified population of Montreal.

"Le Tartare de Boeuf"

Their menu included classy appetizers like "Le tartare de Boeuf" and their meals were consistent with the modern and glamourous vibe they projected. Their terrace, straightly coming from a cozy, but yet contemporary living room, included comfortable sofas to relax on, after a long day at school or work.

I spent a great time with my friends updating about shopping, love relationships and meet-ups, without that feeling of being rushed to order or to eat.

Updated Equation ;)

VIA Crescent + Night out = Glamourous Modernity

"Ambiance du Terroir" at L'Assomoir

Out of the blue, some friends and I spent our Sex & the City night at the resto-bar L'Assomoir, located in the Old-Port, Montreal.

Why I call it a Sex & the City night?

One thing to know about my girlfriends and I, is that we are just as crazy as Carrie, Samantha, Charlotte and Miranda. Like typical women, we gossip, we shop (LOVE, LOVE, LOVE), we love romance, we are all looking for our own Mr. Big, we love men & Sex.

I am pretty sure during our girls' night out, we at least spoke 10-15min about each one of those items.

Oh yeah, I was going to forget at the left of our table, there was for sure a potential Handsome, Hot, Sexy and Romantic Mr. Big and at the right, there was at least 10 guys that could've been our perfect gay bestfriend.

L'Assomoir is a bar where you can meet classy people that finished work and gather with coworkers to take shots after shots. Also, the bar is the perfect place for a typical date at an unusual place since the mood and the design of the place gives the feeling of a lost bar at the middle of the road in the suburbs. Their menu, even if it is a little pricey, offers a good range of cocktails, smooties, beers and their specialty, the fire drinks. All that with a DJ mixing tracks with songs from the "Quebecois" repertoire.

Hope to see you there ;)

Fashion Bright, Wild at Heart

FashionBright

FashionBright by laraisin featuring h&m skinny jeans

There are always four things I consider when I dress up every morning for any occasion; school, work, meetings or when I gather with my friends.

Neutral

Color
Pattern
Texture

 (Accessories)

I always thought that if you want an outfit to be balanced, there must be one item of each element. As you can see above, the skinny-legged jeans is the neutral element, the Red Peplum shirt is the colour element, the Tori Burch Flats are the Pattern and the Classic Chanel bag is the texture.

They each give a statement and a story to the outfit.
Accessories are a plus.
They can brighten up the most boring outfit ever or enhance the most beautiful outfit ever.

P.S. This is something I always have in my purse:

the Chanel Lipstick in the shade "Pirate"

A Snowstorm in Montreal: Spring must be drunk!

This morning, I woke up with the sound of snow hovering in my room. I said to myself: "No way! We are March 19th, its Spring today! It can't be snowing."

I was wrong.

I jumped out of bed, rushing to the window hoping it wasn't what many weather channels predicted the day before.
And yes, 30 cm of snow were already piled up on the sides of my car.

I really felt like staying home in my cozy pajamas and hot slippers, but Montreal's population philosophy is that even a snowstorm won't chase you away from the already planned day coming ahead. In a fashionable way, I dressed up and dragged myself to school.

I can't deny it, a Winter scenery, even on the first day of Spring is the most beautiful view every single person must experience. I've been living in Montreal my whole life and I will never get fed up of the view mother nature has to offer every Winter.

Fushia. Mandarin. Lipsticks

Preparing for summer and spring.
My favorite colors are obviously vivid colors.
Fushia.
Mandarin.
Coral.
Red (unforgettable classic).
Colors every women must have in their beauty pouchs for this season.

I am the type of woman looking for quality at a happy price for my wallet. I just recently purchased the perfect lipstick color in a brand I would've never thought about, +Maybelline NY Vivid. Their completely revamped line of Vivid Color Sensational Lipstick is my new favorite for the summer. Classy shades, hydrating sensation and long-lasting wear are characteristics I am always looking for when I consider the purchase of a lipstick. I wonder if it is the same for all women as well.
What do you think? Which color is your new best friend?

I obviously use the +Lancome Canada "Le Crayon Contour" in the shade "Berry" with the 875 Vivid Rose shade of the Vivid Color Sensational line of Maybelline New York brand.
Why I use a lip liner?
Definition.
Pulpy.
Long-lasting Look.

What is your shade of the summer?

P.S. I will post pictures of the final results. :)
